Original artwork description:

Between Memory and Erasure

This mixed-media artwork explores the fragile boundary between identity, memory, and invisibility. The partially obscured face suggests a state of transition — between presence and absence, seeing and not being seen. Layers of gestural lines, soft washes, and textured surfaces create a visual tension between control and spontaneity.

The white band covering the eyes becomes a symbol of erased narratives, inner silence, or protection — inviting the viewer to project their own interpretation. The contrasting black-and-white background evokes instability and emotional depth, while the bold ochre frame introduces structure, confinement, and resistance at once.

This piece reflects on contemporary experiences of fragmentation, emotional overload, and the search for self within a noisy world. It is a contemplative work that resonates with themes of vulnerability, introspection, and quiet strength.
