“Pugs’ portrait was the 1st commission that I did for her family. She was already quite elderly when I met her, and I could see how much she had been the centre of her owners’ world for many years. I felt it was a real privilege to try to capture her and all her character, so they could have something to remind them of the big part she played in their lives. Pugs was a very patient sitter, and it was lovely having her here. I was really touched by her story, and I hope I managed to do her justice in her portrait.”
