- Professor's Patient Gaze
Original artwork description
This piece is a vibrant plein air study created during a painting class at my art high school in Lublin, Poland. Due to the pleasant weather, we were encouraged to explore the school grounds and choose our own subjects, fostering a sense of independent observation.
I was drawn to the scene of my professor sitting patiently, watching over the students. The composition is focused on capturing the full, high sunlight of noon filtering through the dense green canopy of the tree. The texture of the paint work is energetic and immediate, conveying the light's intensity.
The figure of the professor, rendered as a vague silhouette resting deep in the tree's shadow, acts as the anchor of the scene. He is presented not just as a supervisor, but as a patient mentor, watching carefully, yet with the tenderness of an experienced artist, giving us space to begin before offering guidance. In the distance, the subtle, rusty tone of the school fence subtly separates the focused foreground from the even more atmospheric and vague forms of the trees in the surrounding park. This painting is a unique fusion of energetic Impressionism and a poignant narrative of early artistic instruction.
The painting will be delivered in secure, multi-layered packaging, insured and tracked to ensure its safety during transport. Each work comes with a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity, confirming its originality.
