Chantal Proulx paints abstract works where colour, movement and spontaneity are in the spotlight. She does not seek to represent her surroundings, but rather to create emotion in the observer. This emotion is undoubtedly the fruit of the interplay of colours and spontaneous gestures that underlie each work. The pigments are applied in large, spontaneous and rapid gestures where the subconscious takes up more space than the conscious.
