To really feel the life of the land you have to stand out in it. This is especially true, I believe, with the prairie. To stand out in the grasses, wind blowing against you. Sometimes so hard it threats to push you around. All of your senses are at work. Even with your eyes closed you can see the land. Great, seemingly endless. The sky, the earth beneath you, everything around you is speaking to you. The voice of the Prairie Wind speaks to those who open their hearts to listen.
