Original artwork description
This small, more or less square painting depicts a winter scene in the village of Ötz, Tyrol, Austria. I was attracted by the traditional architecture of the Posthotel which emanates a welcoming atmosphere whilst reminding us of former times. Indeed, this building has a long history which one can read about on the internet. It is one of the old, traditional hotels in Ötz but has, of course, been modernised and is still popular today. Behind it, in the painting, the mountain slope disappears into the mist of the the next snow shower approaching.
“Posthotel Kassl” was painted on site in Ötz, Tirol on Hahnemühle 600g mould-made watercolour paper using Windsor and Newton paints. It comes mounted to fit a standard frame size of xcm and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the artist.
