Painted in 2018, “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” explores the tension between hope and despair within the collective human experience. Faceless, kneeling figures are arranged in a rhythmic repetition, stripped of individuality, becoming symbols rather than portraits.
The red ground evokes sacrifice, pain, and shared history, while the muted sky suggests an unreachable or silent presence. The act of kneeling becomes both submission and resistance — a quiet knock directed at the unseen.
