Original artwork description
For this artwork I started from an idea for an abstract painting, so I used a procedure different than usual. Once I had drawn lines and shapes of colour on the canvas I tried to figure out what the subject of the painting could be.
At some point I saw a human figure in it, so the difficult part became not to add too many elements to the original picture. What I got was a man in 19th Century clothes, who reminded me of a doctor or an explorer, a Romantic figure anyway.

gesso primer, acrylic colors, oil
