A work inspired by a visit to Portland Bill an unusual outcrop of land that I can see looking across the coast from where I live on the Isle of Purbeck. On the day I went out it was clear and sunny, you can walk along the rocky sea ledge with it’s great big lighthouse, among old fisherman's huts and row boats. There still remains a large iron boat winch that would dangle the small fishing boats out over the ledge and drop them down in to the sea. Terrifying!
NOTE: For reduced shipping costs I can take the painting off the stretcher frame and send the painting in a tube to be re-stretched and framed by your local framer. Please get in touch first before purchasing!
