The piece is painted on acid-free and fully archival Belle Arti canvas panel. using Winsor and Newton Artists' series and Old Holland oil paints and mediums for outstanding light-fastness and permanence. Fine sand is also used to give texture to the foreground. This is permanently affixed to the canvas by the binding in the oil paints.
