A hanging pine cone describes the fragility of life.
The pine cone is a treasure of seeds and potential life all in a shell. When it is time it opens up to the warmth and spread life all around. It is a mystical metaphor of human life as well. The poem in the back ground ( which is typical of all my paintings) is taken from Kalil Gibran.
I do not usually frame the paintings for some reasons: the board on the canvas is quite thick and it is also white ( no nails on the side). More over, expecially when it comes to landscapes , leaving it unframed, gives the sense of a window open onto the outside world. it is more direct to me.

Materials used:

acrylics, pastels, pigments
