Description
"Phosphorescence at Dusk" is a chromatic exploration of the threshold between
light and shadow. Horizontal bands of sulfuric green and muted violet collide in a
central, textured swell, creating a visual tension between the weight of the dark
tide and the ethereal glow of the surface. Eschewing sharp definition, the piece
uses soft, sweeping brushwork to dissolve the boundary between the sea and the
atmosphere, leaving only the rhythm of the glow and the deep, periwinkle pull of
the receding wave.

Artist’s Statement
"I am interested in the moment where light ceases to be a reflection and begins to
feel like an internal pulse. Phosphorescence at Dusk is less a study of the sea and
more a study of luminescence in transit.
By pairing the acidity of pale green against the gravity of deep purple, I wanted to
capture the friction of the 'blue hour'—that brief, vibrating window where the
landscape loses its physical form and becomes a purely sensory experience. It is
an invitation to look into the glow and find the silence within the movement."
