In this piece, in turquoise blue hues, I aimed to capture the amber heat of a late summer sunset, as Autumn approaches. The firey Cadmium shade of the trees, reflecting against the deep turquoise blue of the water, is a striking palette.
The painting is slightly textured and catches the light, making the colours burst and glow.
My paintings are often inspired by my love and fascination with ever-changing skies and cloud formation. I try to capture the movement and mood of the skies and sea - Calm and dreamy, to dramatic and surreal.
