A wistful watercolour to evoke the magic of the deep...

Size - landscape format - 11.5cm wide x 9cm high.

On 100% cotton paper - 140lbs Saunders Waterford.

This dainty and delicate pearl and shell were a dream to paint.

I let the watercolour do its thing to create the smooth inside of the shell, only adding some dry texture for the shell's exterior.

Inside sits a plump pearl - formed over years and ready to be admired.

I will send this painting in a reinforced card envelope for safe travel.
