- Parliament Hill 4
Original artwork description
Part of an ongoing series drawn directly from Parliament Hill in north London, this piece explores the gentle topography and vast skies of the Heath. Each one is an attempt to find a slightly different way into the same view, and this one was made on a day when the light made a feature of the footpaths at the lower part of the basin. I like to work with materials I can't fully control, which means the drawing often goes somewhere unexpected. Sometimes that's a problem. Here I think it helped, and I like this drawing because of the texture and uncontrolled nature of the marks.
Materials used:
pencil, oil pastel
Details:
- Drawing on Paper
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 18.5 x 13cm (unframed)
- Signed on the front
- Style: Expressive and gestural
- Subject: Landscapes, sea and sky
