This watercolor is from a series of seascapes created during my travels in Asia.
The watercolor is painted on thick watercolor sanders paper (300 gr).
In the natural landscape, I am interested in the light-air environment. Through painting or graphic writing, I strive to capture the density of air - the way I would feel it if I was immersed in my painting. Even when the pictorial composition has an advantageous linear structure, air remains in the voids, in the gaps, in the breath of the fragile graphic structure.
When painting spaces, I want to stay away from the mimetic principle, to paint those vibrations that the body and gaze of a person immersed in these spaces perceive.
