the aesthetics of the geisha world is always fascinating for painting the background is made of golden leaves glued over diferent colors,these golden leaves are very usually used in traditional japanese backgroundsThis technique does also a reference to the japanesse technique of Kentsugi that highlights the imperfections in gold during the repair work, so that they can be seen and thus give the object a new life.
