Liquidex pro & Golden acrylic colour on handmade Thai mulberry paper (kada sa), deckled edge, 9.5 x 13.5 in., 24 x 34.5 cm.
An expressive interpretation of one of my orchid flowers. Loose brushwork and sometimes thick paint applied to this tick parchment paper. The finish is rich and textured.
Here I use is a traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. It is a thick parchment type paper, strong yet pliable. I have the paper made to this size to get the deckled edges which adds to the textural effect. The close up pictures are to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s the work in progress. And that’s me next to the painting for perspective.
