The inspiration for ‘Onkaparinga Landscape’ is one of my favourite walking places, Onkaparinga River National Park.

It has wonderful scenery from forest, rock pools and cliff tops, to gorges and a beautiful river valley.

Translated from the Kaurna language, ‘Ngangki’ means women, ‘Pari’ means river, and ‘ngka’ means location. So the correct translation for Onkaparinga is Ngangkiparingka, which means women only places along the river.

Materials used:

oil paint and acrylic paint
