The sun was still hiding behind the blue ridges, but the stone peaks were already filling from within with a living, warm light, like old glass. In the depths, the water slumbered, wrapped in thick night mist, motionless and wise in its stillness. Suddenly, the first pure ray struck the ledges, fell upon the lake’s surface, and scattered there into countless gold and coral threads. The mist stirred, playing with its water droplets, and the entire vast bowl opened to the sky, washed in light and ready to live on.
