A painting created through free improvisation. Action painting with music by George Frideric Handel (with the theme "Ombra mai fu" playing on loop).
I work in layers, where the new covers the old but always leaves a trace. Old drawings, children's drawings, graffiti, phrases, and marks build an unexpected story. The parts fit together without pretense, without forcing, sometimes overlapping.
Stories of the past and the present. The unknown, what slips through our fingers... Nature, antiquity, the earthly and the spiritual.
We believe ourselves to be Gods, but we are just monkeys who have grown up.
Gestural, intuitive painting that lets things happen and draws on what appears. Taking advantage of the accident and accepting the consequences.
The need to tell stories, to leave a mark, to understand the world, which is always modern and ancient.
