Two old friends, house and poplar. I think they're the same age. We grew up together and lived side by side all our lives. The house grew in width and depth and the poplar tree grew large and tall . So much so that his shadow in the evening hour lay across the whole village to the last house. Here I stand and look at them and they look at the sunset and bask in the rays of the short winter sun.
