Old oak, Kings stag, Dorset
Late Summer blue sky,
A walk in the countryside,
Seeking the shade, from the heat of the day,
The earth so dry,
Magnificent boughs laden with fresh acorns,
The dried grasses surrounding the tree..
Words and experience of one of my favourite trees.
Original impressionist watercolour on Saunders Waterford 300gsm 140lb rough textured, cold pressed paper.
I have signed my original watercolour on the back and front, titled and dated on the back of the artwork.
Crested with a wet on wet technique using a three colour mixture to achieve a tonal balance for a treescape. I wanted to capture the natural colours and subtle shades of an English oak tree in a pasture, end of Summer colours.
