Hello,
This painting was done on site at a spot near where I live in the South Downs. The oak trees at this time of year are especially dramatic - particularly the old ones.
The work has been meticulously painted over several days (when the rain stopped!) building layers of detail day on day.
I rally like the light minty greens of the lichen contrasting with the azure blue of the early summer skies.
We plan to have more outdoor sessions this summer - watch this space,
