Original artwork description
I love the homes along Main Street in the historic district of St Charles, Missouri with it's rich color and classic stucture. Over the years I have taken many photographs of the area, one of which was used for a class demonstration for one of my oil painting classes. In the photo a man was walking by the home on this bright sunny day. A colorful car was parked at the curb. Both of these features made the subject more interesting. In addition, a dark shadow was creeping across the street toward the home. All of these elements motivated me to create this painting.
