October oak
I see it all of a sudden,
Beyond the gate,
Summer and Autumn colours,
Painting on the Somerset border,
Delightful and a warm bright day.
Words and thoughts,
When the weather is great you can’t beat painting in nature.
I used an Indian rag watercolour paper for a change. I didn’t need to wet the paper first . Instead I lightly dabbed the paper starting with the pale blue sky and leaving areas of white. Then I started to shape the tree using Gamboge yellow and then mixing in some Prussian blue for the greens. A touch of burnt sienna for the bracken.
This small original watercolour scene was created plein air at Penselwood on the border of Somerset and North Dorset.
Signed on the front and back of artwork.
Indian rag watercolour paper, Windsor and Newton watercolours, Chinese brush, small filbert brush,
