This painting captures a moment of attention — a pause in the ordinary. It shows the underside of a bridge, a place most people would walk past without noticing. But there was something in the geometry of its structure, in the contrast of concrete and gravel, that made me stop. The decision to paint it came instinctively, almost before I realised it.

Made with freely placed brushstrokes, expressive and quick, the work plays with precision and illusion. From a distance, it feels realistic, yet up close the colours dissolve, melt and blend into abstraction. It’s a quiet paradox — a study of how something heavy can appear weightless, how something overlooked can suddenly demand attention.

Through this piece, I explore sensitivity in looking — the kind of perception that allows us to find meaning in simple things. I believe that empathy begins in this act of seeing: noticing what usually stays unseen.

The painting is ready to hang and will be delivered in secure, multi-layered packaging, fully tracked and insured to the full value of the artwork. Each work comes with a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity, confirming its originality.
