From this viewpoint the eye is led to a new wave breaking by the lacework of oxygenated remnants of the previous wave.
Christopher Witchall continues his preoccupation with the movement and colours of the ocean, a movement frozen in time between the ancient past and an endless future.
The artist’s unsentimental approach to his subjects combine two great passions - a love of traditional painting techniques and a fascination with the photographic image. The result of this are paintings that are both painterly and highly realistic.
Ocean's Edge is painted on a deep edge stretched canvas, so there is no need for framing and can be hung immediately. It is signed on the front bottom right and supplied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
