Ocean Water Study is a small realist oil painting on gesso panel, 12 x 12 inches (approx 30 x 30cm).
Christopher Witchall’s paintings are a celebration of the beauty and power of nature in the raw and this work continues his preoccupation with the light, movement and colours of the ocean, a movement frozen in time between the ancient past and an endless future.
The artist’s unsentimental approach to his subjects combine two great passions - a love of traditional painting techniques and a fascination with the photographic image. The result of this are paintings that are both painterly and highly realistic.
Ocean Water Study is painted on a deep edge cradled gesso panel, so there is no need for framing and is ready to hang. It is signed on the back and supplied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
