Ocean Dusk is a realist oil painting on canvas, 30 x 30 inches (approx 76 x 76cm).
Inspired by walks along the English South coast, Christopher Witchall continues his preoccupation with the atmosphere, light, colours and movement of the ocean - a movement frozen in time between the ancient past and an endless future.
The artist’s unsentimental approach to his subjects combine two great passions - a love of traditional painting techniques and a fascination with the photographic image. The result of this are paintings that are both painterly and highly realistic.
Evening Wave is painted on a deep edge stretched canvas, so there is no need for framing and can be hung immediately. It is signed on the back and supplied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
