This pastel gestural drawing was made from a life model during one of the quick sketch sessions. The figure emerges from the dark grey ground, her contours deliberately left indistinct. There's something about softened edges that makes the image feel less like a formal study and more like a glimpse into something private - almost as if you're observing unnoticed. That quality of intimacy, of being present to something quietly personal, was essential to what I wanted to convey.
