Biography
Miri is a professional painting artist since 2016, prior to that she worked as a process engineer at Intel for 27 years. She paints abstract and figurative-modern styles.
Miri is primarily a self-taught artist, but initially, she took a drawing class in the house of artists in Tel Aviv, followed by several oil painting workshops.
Miri has participated in 2 solo exhibitions and several group exhibitions in Israel.
She has also exhibited in New York, In Italy at a digital exhibition and plans to exhibit in Madrid on Dec 2022.
Some of her paintings got published in the Capsules Book, a premium boutique publication based in Melbourne, Australia, named: Curatorial Volume.3, Leaders in Contemporary Art, 2021; and will also get published in the Gold List top contemporary artists of today of the international Art Market Magazine, in Oct 2022.
Miri will be awarded the Gold list international award, a certificate of excellence for unique artistic style, and high-technique achievement in the contemporary art world.
Miri is an intuitive abstract painter who expresses her emotions through painting. Her painting process starts with random strokes of colors and as she does it she gets inspired on how to proceed next. At first, the shapes seem random, but layer by layer they start to connect and make sense. This is the most challenging and satisfying step because the artist gets to experience and see how the chaos starts to get form and meaning. In the end, the artist looks at the painting and the title of the painting comes to her mind. The artist uses brushes, spatulas, and sponges to create textures and shapes, she loves to combine all the tools as each one allows her to create a different shape. The outcome is a romantic dance of colors and shapes.
When Miri works on a figurative painting, it is
usually based on a photo. She draws the figure on a Bristol board and transfers
it into the canvas, which was already primed with a first layer, and then she
starts painting the figure. Towards the end, Miri starts to incorporate
abstract elements into the painting. This part is the most satisfying step
because she gets to let my imagination go again. Sometimes the abstract parts
are minimal, and sometimes they are more pronounced, depending the specific
piece she is working on
