Original artwork description
Scattered around many British coastal towns are these sea viewing shelters. They all seem to be built in the British seaside holiday hay day. Do they exist in other countries? They are presumably for looking at the sea whilst eating fish and chips, sheltering from the rain.
Christopher Witchall's unsentimental approach to his subjects combine traditional painting techniques with the realism and cool detachment of photography.
