Nordic Light is an abstract mixed-media painting inspired by the soft luminosity of the Nordic landscape. Layers of grey, white and pale blue are balanced with touches of pink and small accents of light orange.

Watercolour washes create a light, atmospheric softness while expressive oil pastel lines move across the surface, adding rhythm and energy. The gestural composition evokes reflections of sky and water, capturing a quiet and fleeting moment of Nordic light. A calm yet expressive work that would suit contemporary and minimalist interiors.

By building up many layers of texture and colour, using brushes and palette knives, Angelika creates a rich surface and vibrant relationships between random shapes and deliberate markings in her work. She also uses watercolour and oil pastels to heighten the impressions and create depth and movement in her paintings. The drips in Angelika’s work illustrate the endless cycle of growth and decay in organic structures, which again is a reflection of life itself.
