A large and very detailed oil painting of Newquay harbour, Cornwall.
I wanted to capture the orange glow of the afternoon sun on a summer's day. There was a lot to paint in this detailed scene of boats and reflections. Although the overall effect is a fairly realistic representation of this lively Cornish harbour I have tried to keep the brushstrokes lively and gestural.
