ORIGINAL NIKOLA TSVETANOV ARTWORK !!!

2022, "Nefertiti" - wood sculpture

This original oak wood sculpture is one of the latest artworks of the talented Bulgarian professional sculptor Nikola Tsvetanov, deeply inspired by postmodernism and contemporary portraiture. The artist concept is to create an extraordinary and quite unusual portraiture of Neferneferuaten Nefertiti, queen of the 18th Dynasty of Ancient Egypt, the great royal wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten. Nefertiti and her husband were known for a religious revolution, in which they worshipped one god only, Aten, or the sun disc. With her husband, she reigned at what was arguably the wealthiest period of ancient Egyptian history. This unique female bust is hand carved in one solid piece of oak wood. It is one extraordinary woodcarving masterpiece and exquisite modern home décor.
Nikola Tsvetanov’s work encompasses many contemporary art styles with the act of minimal drawing being key to his exploration of form and sculptural composition. Mining a space between figuration and abstraction, the artist consistently returns to nature as a point of departure, exploring human form and scientific shapes as a metaphor for transformation.
