Painting Nature 575 felt like witnessing a silent detonation. I poured and directed fluid ink across a prepared gesso ground — watching it find its own paths outward, pooling at the centre into dense, granular darkness before fanning into translucent arcs at the edges. I intervened as little as possible. The tension between control and release is the real subject of this work.

The process begins with layers of textured gesso — building surface irregularities that catch and hold the ink differently across the canvas. Then come the inks: fluid, unpredictable, responsive to gravity and gesture. Finally, thin veils of acrylic lock the composition and deepen the contrasts between the matte core and the luminous surrounding whites. The result is a surface that reads differently depending on your distance and the angle of light.

Stretched on a solid wooden frame with carefully finished 4 cm (1.5") deep edges — no frame needed. The work arrives ready to hang, signed on the back, with a certificate of authenticity. Packed with maximum protection for safe international shipping.
