I painted Nature 566 in a single sustained session, working with the canvas flat on the floor so gravity could pull the inks where it chose. What you see — that upward sweep of pale aqua breaking open from a dense, dark base — wasn't planned. It arrived.

I began with a heavy textured gesso ground, then poured and tilted fluid ink across the lower section, letting it pool, crack, and crystallise as it dried. A second pass of diluted teal and lime acrylic was drawn upward with a wide brush — wet into the still-damp ink — creating the translucent arc that dominates the upper half. The encrusted lower passages and the airy upper wash are the same moment, just two different faces of it.

Stretched on a solid wooden frame with carefully finished 4 cm (1.5") deep edges — no frame needed. The work arrives ready to hang, signed on the back, with a certificate of authenticity. Packed with maximum protection for safe international shipping.

Materials used:

Acrylic, ink, watercolor, charcoal
