I started this painting with a single dark mass at the base and let everything else escape from it. What I was looking for was the moment a held breath is released — the instant when something compressed finally opens. The turquoise rising through the white was not planned in detail: I guided it, then let it find its own edges.

I work in layers. Textured gesso first, so the surface has something to catch on. Then fluid ink, flooded with water, tilted and blown across the canvas so it feathers into filaments instead of pooling. Acrylic comes last, in graphite and bright cyan, dropped in while the ink is still moving so it granulates and scatters rather than covering. The dark core at the lower right took several passes to reach that density; the pale grey swirls at the lower left are the ink drying against the raised gesso.

Stretched on a solid wooden frame with carefully finished 4 cm (1.5") deep edges — no frame needed. The work arrives ready to hang, signed on the front, with a certificate of authenticity. Packed with maximum protection for safe international shipping.
