A vibrant bouquet in a striped vase, its bold red and white resembles a nostalgic memory of sweet pick and mix bag the composition plays the contrast of the clean geometry of the vase against the organic free movement of the flowers. colour and form merge in a playful and sophisticated memory that meets the imagination.

I created this painting from life with layers of acrylic, oil and oil pastels. The surface reveals a dynamic mix of textures and a contemporary exploration of fantasy and joy transforming a familiar still life into something more nostalgic and dreamlike.
