Original artwork description:

If you haven't met Veronica I'd like to introduce her, she is my alter ego and came about when I was learning to paint with oil paints, I was watching a lot of You Tube videos on how to paint people in oils and they used young female subjects which I tried to paint however being a grumpy old menopausal woman I found it hard to relate to young pretty things and then I came across photos of a photographer's mother. The expressions she pulled and the sheer confidence of her drew me like a magnet so I now have an on going series of Veronica artwork that ironically I paint in acrylics.

Small dog Syndrom is a real thing that many dogs seem to have and is what my MeMe (a wire haired dachshund) also suffers from, I think in her head she sees herself as a large dog big enough to take on anyone who's looking for a fight, she is fearless and will bark at any dog large or small she has even started barking at cars! Bless her!

Veronica handles her small hound with style and panache and unlike me takes it all in her stride.

This fun piece has been painted on a circular wooden panel 8x8 inches with acrylic paints and sealed with satin varnish. She is ready to hang.

The green and red combination makes it feel quite Christmassy which coincidentally makes this particular painting a great all year round Christmas gift idea!

Materials used:

acrylic paint, satin varnish
