Acrylic colours on raw Fabriano Rosaspina watercololur paper, 285gm. 28 x 20 in., 71 x 49cm.
This is a lovely paper, convenient size, just the right absorbency for this raw paper, and a thick paper.
Indian dance. A fascinating subject I love to return to… for the body language, and colourful outfits, bodily decorations and settings, the fantasy. Here I want the hands, the dripping colours, a fluid movement. My inspiration is the movement and music which normally accompanies a classical Indian dance performance.
I wish to thank Sam Kumar Photography for his encouragement and inspiring and moving photos.
The close up pictures allows you a better feel for the texture and brush stroke of the painting. Then there’s the work in progress, and the photoshoot.
