I have been reading the Neapolitan Series of Books during this past year, by Italian Author Elena Ferrante. The books have really penetrated me. So I am beginning a series of paintings based on some of the main characters . This first piece is painted from the first book, “My Brilliant Friend”, and is inspired by Rino Cerullo; the son of the Shoemaker and Sister of Lila; a main character.... This canvas is painted around the edges so it can be hung, unframed...
