Original artwork description:

This artwork was created during a painting class at the Academy in Warsaw. I was struggling to find a subject for a new piece, as all the ideas in my head at the time seemed overcomplicated and forced. I felt the need for a fresh perspective and a slight change of direction.

I decided to go back to basics, and for a period, still life studies became my main theme. This was a welcome contrast to the portraits I had been focusing on for some time then. Still lifes were the focus of my art high school years, the fundamental exercises I used to polish my technical skills, a real return to my beginnings.

The process of painting this object was an intense engagement: observing the subject’s texture, the shifts in color, and its shapes. The ultimate challenge is not just the depiction, but presenting these elements on the canvas in a way that best conveys the sensation of perception, allowing the subject itself to tell a story. This work celebrates the grounding joy of honest, simple observation.

The painting will be delivered in secure, multi-layered packaging, insured and tracked to ensure its safety during transport. Each work comes with a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity, confirming its originality.

Materials used:

Oil paint on paper
