Music That Sees (2025) Original Oil Painting by Lilith Gurekhian

60 x 90 x 2cm (unframed) / 60 x 89cm (actual image size)

£3,301.99

In this painting, I wanted to capture the invisible space where music becomes a personal dimension, and people stand side by side while living in different inner worlds.

The central figure seems less like a musician and more like a vessel through which music takes form.

The birds are symbols of inner freedom and imagination. The blue bird brings calm reflection, while the yellow bird carries creative energy and lightness.

The cello and violin become a language beyond words, one that can only be understood through feeling.

Everyone in this painting looks toward one another, yet no one truly sees. Each remains inside their own music. Perhaps that is why silence becomes their common language—a silence deep enough to create its own symphony.

For me, this work is about the moment when music stops sounding in the room and begins sounding between people, when the eye begins to listen and the heart begins to see.
