The Cuillins on the Isle of Skye on atmospheric days of mist and rain are a myriad of endless curves, lines and angles that recede into the distance. Depending on the time of year, the bracken, wild grasses and flowers provide a carpet of colour in front of this dramatic landscape. With the light shining through moody clouds the mountains appear to be almost a pattern on the fabric of the landscape.

This is a single image in the camera, I later added a little texture to the surface to give a sense of texture of the land. The image is created by moving the camera in subtle ways while taking the photograph to create patterns and swathes of colour. I never know exactly how these images are going to work out as I take them and find it an exciting voyage of discovery every time I make one.

This edition is limited to just 100 prints and is presented at 12 x 12 inches, finished in a charcoal float frame. The frame gives the canvas a refined, contemporary presence while enhancing the depth and intensity of the colours.

The artwork arrives ready to hang, with fixings on the back, creating an immediate impact in considered interiors that call for both colour and balance.

Also available in other sizes on request.
