I was immediately drawn to the vibrant energy of the Mediterranean - the way the brilliant, golden sunlight hits fresh citrus and makes the whole scene feel alive.
When I sat down to paint this, my main inspiration was playing with high-contrast color combinations. I wanted to capture the striking visual shock of warm, rich yellows and bright oranges sitting against intense cobalt and cerulean blues. The cool blue tiles act as a dynamic backdrop, making the citrus practically pop right off the canvas.
