Crozon peninsula, Brittany, France.
At the Pen Hir headland, you get the feeling you're standing at the end of the world. The cliffs stand as the ultimate bulwark against the ocean and the offshore winds, impassive against the furious onslaught of the waves. I sought to capture the subtle nuances of light against the raw strength of the rock, the volatile essence of the sea and the imperturbable majesty of the cliffs.
This landscape is painted “alla prima”, with lively and spontaneous brushstrokes to attempt to capture the momentary effects of sunlight , the movement and the atmosphere.
This artwork will be packaged rolled in a tube. Once stretched by a framer, the white finish of the sides of the canvas allows you to hang it without a frame if you wish.
