Original artwork description
The excitement of hiking on foot and being among the wild animals of Africa charged our spirits as we embarked on our walking safari under the hot African sun. Our group of six walked in single file, with our guide, Gian, leading the way and a Tanzanian forest ranger bringing up the rear, both armed with rifles just in case, though thankfully, nothing ever got too close. Walking allowed us to observe herds of wildebeest, zebras, and cape buffalo, along with many smaller creatures, including a variety of colorful birds. My favorite was the Superb Starling, with its fancy plumage adding a burst of color to the vibrant landscape.
