Original artwork description:

This painting was inspired by my recent visits to the Lake and Peak district and the North Yorkshire moors. I paint intuitively from memory as well as referring to some of my landscape photos. I loved the colours of the fireweed and heather contrasting with the greens of the foliage. I often include a building in the middle ground to encourage the viewer to imagine the history and lives of the occupants.
This artwork is made using textured gesso overlaid with a layer of translucent acrylics and finished with oil paints to enhance the colour... The textures of the foreground grasses and flowers were brushed with lighter shades of oils to enhance the depth of the work.
The canvas is professionally framed in a white wood grain floating frame and is ready to hang.
